For decades, Bonnybridge has been famous for UFO sightings, though PC McBride has yet to see anything he can’t explain. His daughter Mairi is ready for something more, if she can find the courage to trust herself. Matt, a stranger from Roswell, arrives with a proposal to turn Bonnybridge’s UFO reputation into a tourist attraction

Then, a mysterious radar blip appears and a monolith turns up in a field.

Tourists, media outlets, UFO fanatics, eager locals and government officials descend on the town. As Matt grows closer to Mairi, her protective father investigates him and discovers almost nothing. When the government seizes the monolith and detains Matt, the community that once laughed at UFOs rallies around them both. But with Matt’s story beginning to unravel, the monolith attracting increasingly dangerous attention, and Mairi caught between her father’s suspicions and her own feelings, Bonnybridge must decide what, and who, it believes. Is Matt really from Roswell? Is the monolith an elaborate hoax? Or has something extraordinary finally happened in a town that has spent decades looking to the skies?
